Outreach
The Mayfield Trust has developed its outreach services over a many years’ establishing the trust and confidence of local families who need support for their loved ones. The term ‘Outreach’ can mean many different things, this is an umbrella term for a diverse range of support we can offer. Some families choose regular structured support each day, others prefer just weekends or even school holidays; each person is different, and we adopt person-centred approaches to encourage this. We do not believe in a “one size fits all” model of care.
We support people to engage with many different community type activities, including social, leisure, education, and employment. We actively promote people to be independent, to develop life skills enhancing wellbeing, self-esteem, and quality of life experiences. Helping people to establish friendships to broaden their social opportunities is also something we encourage.
Each person will be supported to develop their own care plan, to set personal goals and to hold aspirations about their future; this encourages people to have control over their own lives and what they experience. Furthermore, we specialise in PBS (positive behaviour support) and risk management interventions. If you want fun, holidays and short breaks, occupation, learning, work, or education; we can make this happen together.
